Control Fear
73Control Or Be Controlled
Either you will control fear, or fear will control and torment you. Fear will have you in bondage, or you will exercise total dominion over fear. How does fear become such an overwhelming force in people's lives? The Bible says that perfect love casts out fear, and that fear brings torment. Let's break that down for a minute.
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. I John 4:18"
God's love is perfect because it is unconditional; He looks beyond all of our faults, failures, foolishness and frailties and loves us not because we deserve it, but because He chooses to do so. However, because of our human experiences of people rejecting us we find God's unconditional love and total acceptance of us quite unbelievable at times. But God desires oneness with us ANYWAY, despite ourselves - that's just how GOOD God is.
And anybody who has not fully received the unconditional love of God into their lives by accepting Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord because of His Blood payment for their sins; that person does not have God's deliverance and protection from the Spirit of Fear Satan himself - that person is still in bondage to the devil who torments them; that's how TERRIBLE the Devil is.
Virtual Reality
A person living in fear is in a state of torment to one degree or another. Satan has that person believing F.E.A.R. (False Evidnece Appearing Real); living in a fear-filled world through the virtual reality glasses of fear; believing something false because of their own UNBELIEF in what God said which resulted in rebellion towards the Highest Power in the Universe: God Himself.
Satan The False Accuser has people believing God doesn't love them, that God's out to destroy them because of their sins, that all things don't work together for the good, that God doesn't have their best interest at heart, that God doesn't have their back and won't protect them from all hurt harm and danger, that Christianity is for weaklings and hypocrites, that God is holding out His best from them, and all they can trust and depend on in this world is SELF. All such accusations are complete and utter lies.
Of course the Devil does not reveal that one's servitude to the I-god of SELF is rejection of God, God's Word and God's Truth which leave them vulnerable to the second highest power in the universe: Satan himself.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled off is convincing the world he doesn't exist at all or that he doesn't have any influence in their lives; as long as you don't believe in God, the devil says "that's great!"
Believe It Or Not, It's Still True
Here's the analogy: whether we believe the law of gravity applies to us or not does not change the fact when you drop something it falls, right? Whether we believe The Bible to be true or not does not change it's veracity either.
People who reject both Old and/or New Testament scriptures believe if they don't serve God or accept Jesus Christ as Savior, they are not vulnerable to satanic bondage, and the devil loves this because He knows if a person is not covered by The Blood of Jesus, or does not know how to execute the power of Jesus' blood in their lives - he's got 'em right where he wants them PERIOD! And at this point the devil is free to torment them at will!
The Devil through hypnotic suggestion has the ability to make people do irrational things involuntarily! Satan himself and/or his demons possess and inhabit unbelieving, rebellious and disobedient people, playing them like puppets on a string while they don't even understand why they're performing totally irrational acts. That's how serious this SALVATION issue really is whether people believe it or not!
AND if God allows anybody to see this pattern of unexplainable irrational acts going on in their own lives or in the lives of others - it is not unreasonable to ask 'Are hypnotic/demonic forces at work here?'
Spiritual Kryptonite!
If one has the mature spiritual mind of God to actually observe such irrational acts for what they really are in the spirit realm, the Blood of Jesus must be activated to stop it! Like kryptonite is to Superman, so is the Blood of Jesus to satanic activity.
Can you see the picture so far? God loves unconditionally and empowers His people to succeed in every area of life while Satan torments his people (whether they know they are in bondage to him or not) and he destroys their lives by empowering them to fail and self-destruct through hypnotic suggestions in every area of life on a long term basis.
The ONLY delieverance from the satanic bondage & torment of fear and paranoia is to trust God and act on what He says. God's perfect love for us casts out that fear when we accept His Word about our salvation and what His salvation through the perfect, sinless Blood of Jesus does for us.
Despite how insecure, unworthy or guilty and condemned we might feel about ourselves or how we let judgmental hypocrites make us feel, we must come to the point where we recognize there is absolutely NOTHING to fear when we are in Christ.
When we are IN Christ, it's not about us, it's about who we are as saved Children of God in Christ who already defeated Satan on the cross! Now we have power!
Flip That Script Baby!
When we accept God's unconditonal love for us, we recognize since the God of this universe - the Highest Power Of All - since HE loves us and seeks our absolute BEST good in every area of life no matter what we've done or how we might fail in the future, that means no matter what anybody else thinks or says about us, and no matter how the Devil accuses us and tries to make us believe God won't accept us because of our shortcomings, we remain rock solid in our beliefs that we are IN CHRIST!
When we are IN Christ, we know that when God sees us He sees us through The Blood of Jesus, we are ALWAYS in good standing with God, there is no sin that can threaten us with hell, the Devil can't hinder us because God gave us dominion over that dirty Devil the same way Jesus had it, and all fear (Satan = fear, fear = Satan) must flee when we command it so! Hallelujah!
Wonder Working Power!
What did Jesus' blood do for you? It cleansed you of all unrighteousness, it paid for all your sins past present and future, and it activated the Blood covenant of Abraham's blessing into your life. Because of that Blood, you are empowered to succeed in every area of life; you have the life of Jesus in you, you have the ability to walk the earth like He did, you have power over sickness and disease like He did, you have the ability to prosper in all your relationships, your finances, your health, and you have the ability to exercise dominion over ALL demons like He did!
When you have confidence in that blood which came from God's own divinity (it was the Holy Ghost that impregnated the virgin Mary, not a sinful man from Adam's bloodline), and when you partake of that same blood by taking the Lord's supper you have full access to the power and presence of God! What do you have to fear at this point? NOTHING!!!
Your Job: RESIST!
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7"
Resisting is not God's job, He told US to do it! When we open our mouths and plead the blood of Jesus over our lives and when we open our mouths and tell the devil and the spirit of fear to flee in the name of Jesus, ALL fear gets cast out! The Light of God in our hearts and the darkness of Satan can't remain in the same space: Satan must flee and the fear he brings must leave with him. God replaces Satan's fear with God's boldness based on our confidence in God to do so. It's that simple.
But we must exercise our will in this thing, we must execute these principles accordingly. We must tell the devil where to get off; renounce him, banish him from our own lives through the power of God and the Blood of Jesus based on our belief in God and His Word and not our feelings. Remember, God won't do our part, and we can't do His part but when we do our part based on our faith in Him, God shows up and God shows out!
Learn the POWER of pleading the Blood of Jesus over your life and every situation and circumstance, and FEAR must back away!

You've known me for a while and read my stuff. You know that I am prone to be buffeted by fear. I hate to have to admit this because I hate being afraid. I hate that God has to stretch my faith my allowing fear in and I have to do what you said in the hub to have fear cast aside. The ironic thing is I love scary movies. I am in the audience and know it is a story that does not effect me. It effects the characters. Once in a while though, a movie WILL scare me. Then I'm reminded that I don't like fear and that it is one of the sins I am easily beset with. For whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Fear indeed is a gap in trust and faith. I'm not as much of a scaredy cat as I used to be, partially because of the ministries of you and others here on Hubpages and the growth the Lord has crafted into my life. Yet the devil loves to give me whatif's and catch me not ready for them. Whatif my wife dies? Whatif my children need me and I'm not there? Whatif, whatif... All a lack of faith and trust in God. All sin. I grow at God's speed and I pray I do not stumble others or hurt anyone by my own immaturity. May God get the glory for all. Bob.
Fear has been a real issue with me too Bob, only thing is it's done more damage to me than I care to admit here in this format. It has utterly devastated my life without me understanding how or why UNTIL Our Father began to reveal the cause.
Thank God for His grace, His patience with us, His redeeming power, His wisdom and understanding, His WORD, etc., etc., In the past 3 months since I've written this hub, I've learned even more and will write more on this vital subject.
Let me give you a preview. The spiritual Law of Expectation works just like gravity - whether we respect it, know about it, use it to our advantage or not: we get what we expect.
Fear is based on a negative expectation, and faith is based upon a positive one - it's up to US to decide (choose) which way to expect.
You know that scripture that says God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind? If we are operating/walking in the love of God - LOVE expects the best, especially in others despite the current circumstances... chew on that for a while, because I sure had too ??!!!
God is waiting for us to expect what He says in His Word WILL come to pass (it's incorruptible seed!), and to put our total faith and trust in that in order for Him to activate His supernatural favor towards us - without that, forget about it because as we know - without faith we can't please Him.
Alright, so the converse is also true - Satan is on stand-by for us to exhibit expectation in the negative so he can activate his supernatural destruction into our circumstances because without doubt, unbelief, anxiety/worry - we can't please the devil!
You probably already know that God gave DOMINION in this earth realm over to MAN back in Genesis - which means WE humans rule the earth by way of stewardship, and no where in scripture do we find where God took that back from us.
It's VITAL to understand this dominion issue all the way down to the deepest core of our being; only spirits wearing EARTH-SUITS (human bodies of flesh) are authorized to control earthly circumstances! --God who is SPIRIT needs a PERMIT to operate in this physical earth realm, that's why He told us to pray (SPEAK faith-filled words) this authorizes Him to get involved!
Same with the devil, if we speak negative fear-filled words, we just authorized Satan to do his thing. Catch that - our spoken complaints, doubts, worries, etc. just authorized the DEVIL to reap more havoc!
We know with God on our side Satan doesn't stand a chance, so it's up to us to recognize who we are, how God made us in His image and likeness to be speaking spirits like Him (we shall have whatever we say: Mark 11:22-24) and that the power of death and life is in our own tongue.
Faith is a PERMIT for God to do His thing, Fear is a PERMIT for Satan to do his thing. Now that we know, Bottom line: CHOOSE WISELY!

Thank you for sharing the Word of God and confronting us with the fact that fear is the Christian's enemy. Fear is a mechanism of Satan and his desire to control and steal our faith.
